A Lazy Sunday In East London

Chuckling at cakewrecks in bed covered in toast crumbs.

Updates, updates, updates...

Here's a the second pitch I did for a Wyborowa limited edition vodka bottle a whil
e ago to celebrate the collaboration of Vice and Wyborwa (the original Polish vodka)..(apparently). My idea was based around polish paper cutting, adam and eve and getting wasted and snogging anything that moves. The second image would be printed inside the bottle and seen properly through the circle of the tree, once all the vodka had been drunk. Vice decided not to use any of our final pitches and got someone in NYC to do it instead, which seems a bit of a waste of our time really. But never mind, fun all the same. I ought to screen print them really.

Here's a picture I did with really shit kiddy paint last week. Audrey is 2 and has the amazing ability to produce 2 meter long ribbons of snot in the space of a second. It's like nothing I ever seen on this earth. Here is a portrait I did of her whilst sat at a miniature table and chair set which I fear I will smash to smithereens every time I sit at it.

(ps: she requested the pink hair.. hers is actually white) I went to the Childhood Museum in Bethnal Green last week too. It's so much fun! Awesome Quentin Blake exhibition on at the moment and stacks and stacks of amazing tin toys and puppets. Really good bookshop too. I picked up Yoshitomo Nara's first kids book for Cordelia's 5th birthday. I'm not sure she loves it as much as I do.. but maybe she will when she's older because it's totally adorable and I need to get one for myself. Here was my favourite picture from the bunch...

Right, I'm off to do things.

Time To Crawl Out Of My Cave....

I haven't blogged in ages.. in fact, I haven't really drawn for ages. I've been hiding out for a while, burying my head in the sand whilst trying to find my feet after moving to London (I finally did it.. I moved to the dreaded smoke.. booo hissss I wont forget you, Northern England!) Anyway, bumpy start but I'm settled here for now and it feels like home.

So a few things have happened since I last updated about 5 years ago. Postics (aka Ken of Studio Buro) kindly asked me to take part in a fab exhibition he curated for this years Park N Rock festival over in France. The idea was to customise three record sleeves which had sentimental value.. I did Weezer -blue album, Mineral - the power of failing and SDRE - how it feels to be something on. (emotastic!). It travelled from Toulouse to Paris and ended finally in Marseilles last week. A huge thank you to Ken for asking me to take part, the collection of artists involved were all amazing and it was a real honour. Take a look at for lots more pictures from all the artist who took part.

I've got some images in Martin Dawber's Big Book of Contemporary Illustration which was out this month. It's a couple of older images but the book looks fab.. I really need to get my hands on a copy. Also, I have some images in the book 'Hair'em Scare'em' published by Gesalten and set for release in October. It's a collection of images by artists who use the subject of within their work. If you haven't noticed, I love a good beard.. so I made it in. Thank you Matthias and Elisabeth.

I spent a day in YCN's studio's a couple of weeks ago doing some paintings for their Flowers project where they asked a few of their illustrators to hand draw some brown wrapping paper for bunches of flowers they planned to send out to some lucky clients... Here's a picture of me painting something really twee (suprise suprise) Thanks to Johanna for inviting me down! :)

Ok, this is getting a bit long, I'll wrap it up here and update again soon.

Bye bye to whoever still reads this!

How Is It You Feel When You Run?

Here's a doodle I did in bed the other week, it's part of a bigger picture I made for the Park and Rock exhibition in France this summer. I'll post images of all that closer to the time...

And here's some people getting drunk and frisky.

"Hey lads, take a look at this fucking pie chart!"

An image about deliberative polling. I haven't updated for a while. Mega busy, working as a waitress at the mo, serving animal parts to alpha males until the wee hours. Will post some new pictures up soon.

I miss new york.. I think every time the sun comes out I think how much better it would be if I was s
kipping through Mccarren Park with an iced coffee in my claws. Must win lottery soon...

I just thought I'd give a shout out to my amazingly talented sister Lucy Harvey for her exhibition Tales From The Electric Forest which has been running at the Crypt Gallery for a week or so now. The whole show was brilliant.. my younger sister pitched in an modeled Lucy's dark and bizarre teeth and claws. Check out her blog for more

Deep Marsh

Thumbs up:

*The sun having his hat on
*Mangoes and everything bagels
*Something To Write Home About
*Twister lollies

Thumbs down:

*Empty piggy banks
*Bees and wasps
*An old friend catching you working as a flyer distributor (FML)

Here's a picture of people with no heads hanging out and having a blast, giving each other graphs and things.

It's actually about how ordinary people become experts through deliberative polling.

I caught Das Boton play last week with Billy Dolan from 5ive Style in ... they were amazing and they played Deep Marsh. I loved it!

This is picture I made for my sister a few months back and revisited it the other day for something else. Me and my older sister have called each other 'Owl' since I was 7 and she was 8... due to a really cute face we would pull at one another in the last minute hope that the angry sister wouldn't punch the annoying sister in the head. I was usually the annoying sister. 15 years down the line, I'm still Owl, she's still Owl...she likes large wine glasses and has considerably larger breasts than I ever will.

I draw owls a lot.. I also draw a lot of woodpigeons which is my younger sisters bird. She sent me a text once really early in the morning which read something along the lines of "I have just seen a really fat woodpigeon and I really want to pick it up to see what it feels like". Being half asleep at the time I drifted off into a dream about me and my boyfriend being able to know the exact weight of woodpigeons when we picked them up. What a shit super power! Anyway, I have always loved that as they're her favourite bird. Sisters are totally amazing, I'm obsessed with mine.

"Would you like a fl.... Uh, ok" ... "Would you like a fly..." "Would you like a fl.. no? OK..."

It's Saturday and drizzly and I don't want to go outside. I've been so busy this week I just want to sit and do nothing for an hour! I'm working as a cleaner at the moment which although ain't very glamorous, is actually quite fun - and a total work out.. who needs the gym when you've got ancient hoovers to lug about?!

Speaking of the gym.. me and my partner in upside down crime found a really good adult gymnastics class near by. She's still amazingly fit and was flipping all over the shop... I however haven't thrown any of those moves for quite some time and spent the following three days creeping about like my legs were filled with concrete. It was nice to be on a trampoline again, felt like home.

I made some new pictures..

'Stillness Is The Move'

'The Graveyard Shift'
Stillness Is The Move by Dirty Projectors is totally amazing, they're so good.
Right, I'm off to do some flyering. It's possibly the worst job I've had since waitressing in a tapas bar when I was 14 but I will balance this out by eating lots of chocolate eggs and catching up with Gossip Girl tonight...

A Little Piece Of Mind

Something exciting is happening over at londonnewcastle Project Space this week. Ages ago I embroidered a little square patch for a charity project Marque organised in aid of Shelter and The Bowery Mission. The aim of it all was to ask lots of artists to submit a little patch / 'little piece of mind' so that they could make a massive patchwork quilt and auction it off for charity! Well it happened and the results will be shown off all week over at Londonnewcastle project space. I'm off to have a look tomorrow night and I can't wait to see it. I'll try find my patch and take a photo as I completely forgot to take one before I sent it off. Check it out if you're in the hood.

Here's a picture I made a while ago about information sharing between America, Europe and Asia. No animals and lots of men - what's happening?!

It's bed time,

Not updated for a couple of week, I have been busy applying for lots of jobs and not doing a lot of drawing. I'm in the middle of a bit of a work lull lately...

Here's a picture which pretty much sums up my entire winter - spent indoors dreaming of better weather. That said, we had awesome weather here at the weekend.. We BBQ'd and everything. Come back!

This will be in the next issue of Popshot magazine anyway. Also in that sorta news.. the story I illustrated for latest issue of ANORAK magazine is now in stores. The whole issue looks great, I saw it for the first time yesterday. So go pick one up. Here's a couple of pictures from it....

I'm sure I have more things to update, but for now it's peanut butter and banana sandwhich time.

Here's a couple of sheets of wrapping paper I designed a while ago in hope to give the A3 banner feature on my printer a go. Of course, it totally didn't work and I fucked up loads of nice paper... HOORAY! and ended up giving my dad his Christmas present with a sheet of white paper placed on top of it because I was so bored of paper by this point, I couldn't be arsed to wrap it round objects. I'm a meff.

colouring outside your guidelines

I've been on a major nostalgia trip this week, listening to shit old records and ebaying loads of clothes from suitcases that have hidden in my mum's loft for years, I can't believe I ever wore this shit, seriously. Poo-brown floral shirts? Gorgeous.

I'm trying to find a new job and think of any way I can fluff up my CV to make me look like an admin extraordinaire. This is not a fun time to find a job. Wish me luck..

Anyway, I'm skiving. Back to it.

Cloud Collection

I'm making a few changes over at this week, so please excuse
any hiccups or not working buttons. It will be back to normal asap.

an angry little cloud collector...

Here's a picture I made about eco-friendly offices. It's weird looking at this picture because my hands are doing exactly that right this second. It's like seeing double, only I well don't have a tan and I'd totally be looking at facebook or something equally shit and time wasting.

I didn't get the chance to make a Valentine's card this year, which is a shame because drawing girls and boys is probably in my top 5 things of all time. Oh well instead I stayed in and laughed at all the amazing Valentine's cakes that had reported, romance shmomance. That blog really does bring me unending joy.

Come Sit Next To Me, Pour Yourself Some Tea

A line drawing of a girl on her computer, taken from a bigger image I'm working on at the mo. She looks a bit guilty, I wonder what she's up to on there...

I think she's looking at,, designformankind and and then emailing her mates to tell them how lovely these blogs are...

Thank you !

Oranges, Clouds and Gravel-Palm

Pajama Sunday, my head hurts and my palms are red with imaginary gravel stuck in them, after a little drunken glide across the pavement last night! Really!?... Really! The shame!

I'm working on a little children's story at the minute which is brill, though today my light box is melting my brain through my half open eyes and I just want to roll back into bed.

Here's an Illustration I did to accompany a poem called 'Infinite Argot', that despite being translated from Spanish and perhaps losing its touch a little... had this really nice part about two lovers climbing little ladders into the sky and eating oranges together.

Back to the light box of doom.

hard hearted honey pot...

England got sprinkled with snow this week, it was brill! Everyone stopped life for a couple of days and the newspapers all h
ad angry front pages with the word SNOW in the biggest letters they could find. Anyway, I built a dead shit snow man on the front drive so all the kids from the school down the road would think I was rad... I think my neighbours thought I was a total dick, scraping all the snow from the tops of their cars with my tongue stuck to the side of my face like 5 year old child.

There's a window display project in the pipe lines... Me and a couple of others are looking to make some big cardboard hangings in celebration of International Women's Day. We've been bashing heads for the past few days and messing around with old drawings. Here's a very rough experiment with some more simple shapes..

Back to work anyway! ... here's one of my favourite Bonnie Prince Billy songs, to watch the snow fall to.

Is He Still Comin' Around Like An Injured Bird?

Here's a drawing of an old abandoned cinema that people sometimes party in.

I've had Caught In The Trees by Damien Jurado on all week. When it came out I wasn't really in the right mood for it but I think it's the best thing since Ghost Of David. I'm smitten. This song's boss..

The Worlds Worst Blogger

Hello, hello, hello...

Happy New Year!

There's two things I totally blow at in this world, one is driving a car, the other is blogging. I haven't blogged in bloody ages and that is because I've been too busy having a little sulk that I'm no longer living in New York. Oh well, new year, new shit to have a sulk about!

So here's what I've been up to anyway.

I painted a little postcard for a school fundraising auction in California somewhere it looked a little something like this...

I made everyone a Christmas card which did not promote seasonal snogging, get that scraggy branch away from me!

I drew a picture of lots of buildings and a musical genius having a little read, I heart NY etc..

Here's two kids impaled on a tree and stuck in tiny houses, poor bastards don't seem to have noticed yet, maybe it's the shock and adrenaline

I painted a picture of a trick biker for a trick biker, this is how I imagine she arrives to work, always wearing splendid knickers.

I also got one of my drawings inserted into my arm forever more by the magical man Myles Karr at Saved Tattoo. He has a new website and luckily for us he's decided to post a new picture each day. His new drawings are out of this world

This week I have been working on a little embroidered patch for a quilt exhibition in April, it took ages, hurt my fingers but looks quite cute. I sent it off in a such a hurry I totally forgot to take a picture, what a whally. But I will get hold of an image of it soon, no doubt.

Talking of exhibitions, here's a clever photograph by Panos of the Friends Like These exhibition over in Brooklyn, which makes you feel like you were actually there.. You should have a gander at his work as he is brilliant and makes all sorts of wonderful sculptures, costumes and 2d artwork. He is also part of another exhibition along with the awesome Peri Lee Pipkin at the Video Gallery that's on at the moment, called Paws With Claws. So go check it out, I wish I could!

Rightio, I will keep this updated, it's on the resolution list!
Over and out,
